About the team

The Canvas team at Goodnotes is at the heart of our core note taking experience – used and loved by millions every day. We build and maintain the foundational components that turn any device into an endless, expressive digital notebook. This includes the drawing, writing, and typing tools, the canvas interaction model, content creation and editing flows, as well as our rendering engine. We value efficiency and focus, with minimal meetings and an emphasis on getting things done. You’ll work closely with our product leadership, design team, and engineers to create exceptional experiences for our users.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Canvas team and lead the evolution of the typing experience in Goodnotes. In this role, you’ll define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for how millions of users type, write, and think digitally every day. You’ll also be responsible for delivery and execution, ensuring that the team’s efforts are focused on what matters most through clear, outcome‑driven decisions.

This is the role for you if you’re excited to work on the below:
  • Own one of the key areas within our Canvas team which represents a central piece of the Goodnotes application and be on the critical path for future scale and growth of the company
  • Drive the product vision and strategy and help evolve the canvas experience
  • Collaborate closely with design and engineering to define product requirements and roadmaps
  • Lead product discovery through user research, feedback, and market insights
  • Drive product decisions through data and user insights
  • Prioritize features and improvements to maximize user value
The skills you will need to be successful in the above:
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within consumer or productivity products
  • Demonstrated experience in improving or building typing, text, or input systems (e.g. rich text editors, note‑taking apps, document tools)
  • Proven ability to own complex product areas end‑to‑end – from discovery, definition and strategy to delivery and iteration
  • Deep understanding of UX principles, especially around text input, layout, or editing experiences
  • Strong customer empathy with previous experience interacting directly with users
  • Data‑informed decision making – able to define, measure, and interpret product success metrics
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross‑functional setting
  • Solid understanding of technical foundations
  • An introductory call with someone from our talent acquisition team. They want to hear more about your background, what you are looking for, and why you’d like to join Goodnotes
  • A role‑specific call to discuss your background and skillset for this role more in detail, as well as do a live exercise
  • A call with your hiring manager. This is the person who will be managing you day to day, working on your growth and development with you, as well as supporting you throughout your career at Goodnotes
  • A meet‑the‑team call with 2 or 3 Goodpeople you’d be working closely with at Goodnotes
  • An AI literacy interview, to gauge your experience working with AI technologies

Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, including verification of employment, education, and criminal records.
