Design and Management Consultants Ltd are seeking a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to take a leading role in the technical delivery and growth of the structural engineering team in the Warrington Office.
You will hold technical and project leadership responsibility for schemes ranging from £350k to £45m, delivering projects from early concept through detailed design and construction. This role requires a confident engineer capable of owning complex design decisions, managing client relationships, and mentoring engineers within the team.
You will work closely with Directors to shape technical standards, manage risk, and contribute to the strategic development of the business, with clear scope to influence how projects are delivered.
Lead the structural design and delivery of projects across residential, health, education and commercial sectors
Take technical responsibility for designs in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber in accordance with Eurocodes, NHBC standards, and UK Building Regulations
Manage projects from concept design through to construction support, including programme, fees, and risk
Review, approve, and oversee the work of engineers and technicians
Undertake and review structural surveys, inspections, and technical reports
Act as a senior point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants
Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to junior and mid-level engineers
Contribute to the development of internal processes, technical standards, and team capability
Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
Strong working knowledge of Eurocodes, NHBC guidance, and UK Building Regulations
Steel and reinforced concrete design
Masonry and connection design
Experience undertaking and reviewing structural surveys and producing high-quality technical reports
Confident client-facing engineer with experience leading meetings and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
Experience managing engineers and reviewing technical output at project level
Commercial awareness and a strong sense of ownership over project outcomes
Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE)
Experience delivering projects for, or working closely with, large UK housebuilders
Proficiency in Tekla Structural Designer
