Senior Pre-Sales Engineer
Reports to CTO. Location: Hybrid working – 2‑3 days per week in London office / Remote working. Terms: Permanent full‑time following successful probation.
Role Overview: The Senior Pre‑Sales Engineer at Lumilinks Group Ltd acts as a subject‑matter expert who drives technical sales, influences purchasing decisions, and integrates cutting‑edge AI capabilities into presales processes.
Responsibilities
- Advanced Solution Design & Strategy: Lead design, customisation and optimisation of technical solutions, mapping capabilities to business objectives and demonstrating tangible ROI.
- Presales Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver compelling, interactive demos and presentations to C‑level executives and technical end‑users, translating complex features into clear business benefits.
- Technical Deep Dives & Expertise: Act as the primary technical point of contact, answering complex questions on integration, performance, scalability and security.
- Discovery & Qualification: Conduct deep discovery calls using BANT, research prospects and their companies, and identify pain points, goals and timelines.
- Proposal Development: Generate tailored technical content, statements of work, architect solutions and contribute to RFX responses, leveraging AI tools for efficient drafting.
- Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Alignment: Work closely with Account Executives, Product Management, Engineering and Customer Success to define objectives, integrate presales insights and ensure seamless onboarding.
- AI Integration & Application: Evaluate and integrate AI tools to automate tasks, summarise calls, answer questions and optimise sales pitches, while ensuring ethical and accurate outputs.
- Continuous Learning & Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices, and pursue ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in pre‑sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture or a highly technical customer‑facing role.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful technical solutions and achieving sales targets through complex sales cycles.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Certifications in presales, sales engineering, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud) or domain‑specific technologies.
- Experience with advanced workshops or training focused on presales strategies, AI/ML, or BI tools.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Deep mastery of Lumilinks product portfolio, value proposition and competitive differentiators.
- Proficiency in Python or R, SQL and relevant libraries for data manipulation and scripting.
- Experience with generative AI platforms (e.g., Snowflake Cortex, ChatGPT) and prompt engineering for presales use cases.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data warehousing, ETL, pipelines & governance.
- Skilled in data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI) for dashboards and reports.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership qualities, with a proactive learning mindset.
