Salary: £32,020 – £36,298 (up to £38,296 with AMHP) + £3,000 Market Forces payment

About the Role
As an Adults’ Social Worker, you’ll promote the well-being of adults and carers, supporting independence and access to community resources. Your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with adults and carers to assess needs and develop personalised support plans.
- Collaborating with professionals and agencies to deliver multi-agency support enabling independent living.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Participating in safeguarding procedures and using the Making Safeguarding Personal approach.
- Representing the council in court proceedings and advocating for service users’ welfare in various forums.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop support plans using a strength-based approach.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create sustainable care packages and prevent unnecessary statutory intervention.
- Maintain accurate records and engage in reflective practice and supervision.
- Promote the welfare of children and report safeguarding concerns as necessary.
Requirements
Experience
- Proven experience in social work, including assessment and support planning for individuals and carers.
- Experience in social care focusing on adults, including older adults and those with physical disabilities.
- Track record of involving users and carers in care arrangements.
- Extensive experience collaborating with health and social care agencies and professionals.
- Experience using community resources and networks to develop sustainable care plans and reduce need for statutory services.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of social work theories and practices for adult and caregiver support outcomes.
- Familiarity with current legislation pertaining to adults and caregivers.
- Strength-based practice and clear, effective communication (verbal and written).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse individuals.
- Good organisational and prioritisation abilities.
- Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and with external agencies.
- Competence in assessment and support planning for adults and caregivers, and in partnership working and negotiation.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in social work.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Relevant post-qualifying certifications.
- Level 1 qualification in Essential Digital Skills or demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.

- The role may require travel throughout the county, including areas with limited public transport.
