A local council in York is seeking a skilled planner to manage and assess complex planning applications that shape the city’s future. Key responsibilities include balancing development pressures with environmental considerations. Candidates must hold a degree and an RTPI-recognised planning qualification, with experience in major planning proposals. In addition to holding a degree and an RTPI recognised professional planning qualification you will have an extensive knowledge of the planning system and experience of dealing with a wide range of planning proposals including ‘major’ applications.
Candidates should possess or be eligible for RTPI membership. The post offers flexible working from home and at our city centre offices.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
