Senior Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist OBI
Job overview
We are seeking a passionate Rapid Response Therapist who shares in our vision of the ‘home first’ approach. You will have the opportunity to work in a large MDT to deliver a 2-hour response as part of the National Urgent Community Response targets. Our aim is to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and prevent avoidable Emergency Department attendances by an integrated multidisciplinary approach to stabilise patients within the place they call home.
Responsibilities
- Provide rapid response, senior therapy assessment & treatment of complex patients within the community.
- Travel independently across the Dudley borough carrying large pieces of equipment as required.
- Prioritise and problem‑solve time‑critical cases in a home setting.
- Supervise and support junior staff and students.
- Work autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary team under national guidance for Urgent Community Response Services.
Key duties
- Deliver assessment and treatment for older adults and acute medicine/falls patients.
- Provide case‑management and discharge planning information.
- Ensure clinical care delivered meets best practice guidelines.
- Maintain equipment and stock control.
Qualifications & Education
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered
Experience
- Evidence of relevant post‑graduate experience and short courses with physically impaired patients.
- Experience working in community settings and at a band 6 level.
- Supervision of junior staff and students.
Knowledge & Training
- Good knowledge of rapid response, rehabilitation, falls and clinical guidance.
- Knowledge of national guidance for Urgent Community Response Services.
- TEAMS/Outlook/Excel/Word computer literacy.

- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork and sensitive disclosure.
- Ability to pass on skills and knowledge to others.
