A leading transmission company in Scotland is seeking a Principal Engineer – Protection, Automation & Control to join their Network Engineering team. This role involves defining technical policy, ensuring the safety and validation of IED types, and providing consultancy services. Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in development, design and specification of transmission level protection and control systems.
  • Knowledge of Protection & Control related International Standards.
  • Ability to write clear and well-structured technical reports and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Write, review and maintain technical specifications for protection and control designs.
  • Ensure IED types are safe, tested, and validated.
  • Represent SSEN Transmission at industry events.
  • Provide technical consultancy services across the business.
  • Assist in verifying project proposals for fit for purpose.
