Role Overview

The Senior Motion Designer plays a key role in delivering high-quality, creative motion graphics and animation across This is Beyond’s events, campaigns, and brand initiatives. This role combines hands‑on creative leadership with people management, guiding and supporting designers to deliver consistent, impactful work while maintaining high visual, technical, and brand standards.

Working closely with the Creative Team, Marketing, and Operations, the Senior Motion Designer ensures motion output is strategically aligned, creatively ambitious, and executed to a high standard across digital, social, on‑site, and campaign‑led environments.

Core Responsibilities

Creative Development & Delivery

  • Conceptualise, design, and deliver engaging motion graphics and animations across social media, digital campaigns, brand films, and on‑site content.

  • Collaborate with the Creative Team to develop motion‑led storytelling that supports campaign objectives and brand identity.

  • Contribute creative input across projects, from ideation and moodboarding through to storyboarding and final delivery.

  • Create and adapt assets using strong foundations in design principles, colour theory, typography, and layout, with a motion‑first mindset.

  • Support the creation of immersive brand worlds for This is Beyond’s portfolio of events through impactful visual content.

Technical Excellence & Innovation

  • Deliver high production values across all motion outputs, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and technical accuracy.

  • Confidently manage video editing and post‑production, including audio syncing, transitions, colour grading, and basic sound design.

  • Work across multiple formats and output requirements, ensuring best practice for each platform (social, web, widescreen, on‑site).

  • Apply knowledge of 3D animation tools (Cinema 4D or Blender) and rendering engines (Redshift, Octane, or C4D render) where relevant.

  • Stay up to date with motion design trends, emerging tools, and technologies, applying learnings to elevate creative output and sharing insights with the team.

Project & Workflow Management

  • Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, balancing creative ambition with deadlines and resource constraints.

  • Collaborate with the Art Director and Creative Team to map timelines, define deliverables, and prioritise workloads effectively.

  • Take ownership of motion output across multiple shows and campaigns, ensuring clarity, quality control, and alignment with wider objectives.

  • Actively contribute to improving creative workflows, templates, and systems that support team‑wide efficiency and consistency.

Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Working

  • Work closely with Marketing and Operations teams to ensure creative output supports campaign goals, event execution, and brand strategy.

  • Support brand activations and large‑scale installations, including motion content for physical environments and live experiences.

  • Foster a collaborative culture by contributing ideas, embracing feedback, and supporting colleagues across departments.

Core Skills & Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in motion design, animation, or video production, with at least 2 years working as a Motion Designer.

  • Experience in a creative agency, studio, or fast‑paced in‑house creative environment preferred.

  • Experience delivering motion content for digital marketing, social media, and large‑scale installations.

  • Exposure to luxury travel, lifestyle, or premium brands advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

  • Experience with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender; familiarity with rendering engines (Redshift, Octane, C4D render) a strong plus.

  • Working knowledge of sound design tools (e.g. Adobe Audition) for timing, transitions, and polish.

  • Strong understanding of export formats and technical requirements across multiple platforms.

  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and interactive media advantageous.

Leadership & Ways of Working

  • Experience guiding, mentoring, or supporting designers, helping raise creative standards across the team.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative rationale and receive feedback constructively.

  • High attention to detail and pride in craft, with a passion for creating visually compelling work.

  • Organised, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours during event periods.
