About the Maritime & Mechanical Engineering Teams

Our Maritime Team pioneers innovative maritime planning, design and development, delivering ports and maritime infrastructure worldwide. The Mechanical Engineering Team specializes in feasibility, design and specification of mechanical equipment packages for ports, shipyards and container terminals.

What you will do as a Senior BIM Modeller

With 5‑10 years of experience, you will work within the Mechanical Team on multi‑disciplinary projects of varying size and complexity. Your primary tools will be Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

  • Lead the development of detailed models for mechanical utility systems within maritime environments (both underground and aboveground).
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers and project managers to ensure accurate and coordinated designs.
  • Manage and maintain BIM standards and software component libraries, ensuring compliance with project and industry requirements.
  • Oversee clash detection, model audits, quality assurance processes and contribute to BIM Execution Plans.
  • Mentor junior modellers and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Plan, organise and manage work packages or projects.
  • Travel in the UK and abroad for short assignments (as per project requirements).
  • Develop IFC shared parameter files and classify model elements to IFC schemas.
Candidate Specification
  • Proficiency in Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 19650 workflows and BIM Execution Plans.
  • Logical problem‑solving approach.
  • Ability to undertake tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands‑on experience with model federation, issue tracking and clash detection.
  • Preferably experience in mechanical drawings, pipework, schematics, etc.
  • Preferably BIM certifications, familiarity with 4D/5D BIM for sequencing and cost estimation, and experience with data visualisation tools.
  • Preferably a full driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to other UK offices.
  • Eligible for SC (Security Check) clearance if required (UK Ministry of Defence projects).

Locations
