Join us and make a real impact on risk management at a world-leading university.**Your Skills**What We're Looking For* You're a clear communicator, capable of building trust and influencing outcomes at all levels, from departmental staff to board members.* Have insurance expertise: strong knowledge of insurance terminology, policy interpretation, and risk management practices, including compliance with the Insurance Act 2015.* Team Collaboration: Enjoys working as part of a close-knit specialist team while building strong relationships across the wider University.* Negotiation & Communication: Ability to negotiate confidently with insurers, brokers, and loss adjusters, and explain complex insurance concepts clearly to non-specialists.* Analytical & Organisational Skills: Skilled in analysing data, managing budgets, and prioritising a diverse workload with accuracy and attention to detail.* Technical Competence: Comfortable with electronic record-keeping, financial reporting, and using tools like Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.* Professionalism & Discretion: Proven ability to handle confidential information and manage sensitive queries with tact and integrity.* Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) and ideally a Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate (or willingness to work towards it).**Benefits**The University offers an excellent benefit package including:* 41 days annual leave, inclusive of Bank Holidays* Defined benefits pension schemes* Flexible working options* Family-friendly initiatives* Career development opportunities* Support for health & mental wellbeing* Tax-efficient bicycle and charity-giving schemes**Location**The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment.
