This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.

The Role

As Senior Electrical Services Engineer, you will lead technical work on projects of moderate scale, taking ownership of major HV/LV equipment tasks, complex installations, modifications and technical studies.

You will support the development and operation of a cutting‑edge facility that tests the materials and technologies needed for future fusion plants, including CHIMERA, the only rig in the world able to replicate the extreme conditions inside large fusion devices. In this role, you will oversee the delivery, operation and improvement of the FTF Yorkshire site’s power‑supply infrastructure and low‑voltage control systems, ensuring full compliance with current legislation.

Working closely with a project manager, you will help maintain quality, manage risks, and keep delivery aligned with budgets and timelines, while communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders. If you have experience issuing electrical isolations on low‑voltage and high‑voltage systems, including racking out air circuit breakers, this could be the next step in your career.

Key Accountabilities

Act as a technical expert, providing guidance on fault finding, enhancements, problem‑solving and assurance through calculation and analysis of electrical systems.

Coordinate and manage supplier and contractor input, reviewing documentation and controlling costs within Group budgets.

Ensure compliance with legislation and codes of practice, preparing engineering procedures, risk assessments, method statements and local rules.
