Are you on board?

At LNER, data, research, and insight delivery is central to shaping our strategy, driving innovation, and improving customer and operational outcomes.

The Senior Deliver Manager is accountable for delivering new and strategically significant insight projects and data products, from initial scoping, through to launch and adoption — ensuring they provide clear, actionable value.

The post holder will manage stakeholders and project teams, operating as a leader within Data Services to deliver complex, cross-functional projects. They will coordinate input from stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, researchers and external suppliers, managing risks and dependencies to ensure each project is delivered to time, budget, and quality expectations.

This is a role for a delivery-focused leader, adept at influencing stakeholders, managing priorities, and ensuring that new insight capabilities are embedded successfully in the organisation.

Within this role you'll also be involved in;

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of new data, research, and insight products, ensuring outputs are actionable, timely, and aligned to business priorities.
  • Translating strategic and operational needs into clear project briefs, scopes, and delivery plans.
  • Coordinating input from cross-functional colleagues, ensuring alignment and accountability without direct line authority.
  • Managing project timelines, risks, budgets, and stakeholder communications throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Overseeing the design and development of new dashboards, analytical models, and research outputs that address specific business challenges.
  • Commissioning and managing external research projects, ensuring methodological robustness and actionable outputs.
  • Presenting findings and product launches to senior stakeholders, ensuring adoption and integration into decision-making.
  • Promoting best practice in project delivery, agile working, and insight product design.
  • Acting as a senior advocate for innovation in data and research, scanning for new tools, techniques, and market trends to enhance future delivery.
  • Providing cover for the Lead Business Analytics Manager to manage escalations and facilitate bi-weekly workload planning meetings aligned to both project and BAU priorities.
What you'llneed:

Essentials

  • Proven experience delivering high-impact data, research, or analytics projects.
  • Strong project management skills (e.g., Agile, Prince2), including scoping, planning, and delivery tracking.
  • Experience in engaging and influencing cross-functional teams outside of direct management responsibility.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with senior leadership.
  • Exceptional project delivery capability, with a track record of launching new data and insight products successfully.

  • Demonstrable ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative research outputs.

What you'll get:
  • Free travel on LNER + 75% off other companies' tickets (for you & dependents)

  • 50% discount on LNER tickets for friends & family
  • Generous pension scheme
