Job description

Senior Data Engineer, Databricks, Home Based. Salary £60,000 - £70,000 + benefits. Strong, performant SQL and Databricks required. Home Based with one day a month at the office in Nottingham.

Expanding SaaS product company is looking for a number of Senior Data Engineers as they continue to grow. In these hands‑on roles you will be part of the team responsible for designing, creating, deploying and managing the company's data assets and will guide and influence other members of the data engineering team with the ultimate goal of writing excellent quality, clean and high‑performant code.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Data Architects and Data team to determine technical delivery and functionality.
  • Design data solutions based on optimal performance, scalability and reliability.
  • Create, optimise and maintain logical and physical data models, including data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Design and manage the data integration process.
  • Work with the team to improve their skills and knowledge (mentoring, training, coaching, etc.).
  • Contribute as a member of the agile team.
  • Work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and BAs to understand the data needs of the business.
Required Skills
  • Previous experience as a Data Engineer in a delivery‑focused environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Databricks and performant SQL.
  • Experience analysing complex business problems and designing workable technical solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of the SDLC, including testing and delivery in an agile environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of ETL.
  • Experience of data warehousing and data lake solutions.
  • Good experience working in an Agile environment.
