Job description

The Senior Corporate Affairs Manager plays a key role within the Communications team, driving the organisation’s communications strategy and stakeholder engagement plan across internal and external audiences. This position combines strategic influence with hands‑on delivery, requiring expertise in media relations, issues and crisis management, and political engagement.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Support the delivery of the organisation’s communications strategy and engagement plan across a variety of audience stakeholder groups, both external and internal.
  • Protect and enhance the organisation's reputation and brand through a combination of proactive and reactive communications, including issues and crisis management.
  • Be instrumental in managing relationships and communications with government and political audiences, from local to national. Utilise knowledge of the UK parliamentary and race system, and network of contacts, to provide high‑level strategic advice, ensuring colleagues are fully briefed on developments across the political landscape.
  • Lead on government policy and wider sports policy leadership, coordinating and drafting government submissions,ərin influential legislation and handling engagement with ministers, government advisers and parliamentarians.
  • Manage the development and delivery of the stakeholder engagement strategy, liaising - as required - with Board Members, Directors and Senior Managers on delivery of the programme.
  • Using exceptional writing skills, produce compelling copy for media releases, statements, speeches, briefing documents and fact sheets, and coordinate distribution in close collaboration with digital and content teams, ensuring a unified and aligned message across all channels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key local, national and international representatives of the media.
  • Provide communications advice and media training to senior leadership, including Chair, Chief Executive, Directors, Senior Managers and designated spokespeople.
  • Foster strong engagement with the local community, including day‑to‑day engagement with a wide range of representatives including counc दीप, residents' associations, societies and interest groups, and individuals.
  • Support the VIP engagement programme for The Championships, working closely with the Chair’s Office to identify influential stakeholders in the worlds of sport, politics and media.
  • As appropriate, act as a nominated spokesperson for the organisation and The Championships.
About you
  • An experienced communications professional with significant experience, ideally with an agency, government or rights‑holder background. νέο>
  • Possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to work quickly and efficiently, while upholding a high level of attention to detail.
  • A strong understanding of proactive and reactive communications and demonstrable experience of managing complex communications projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of successful engagement with government and political audiences, and ideally, a particular interest in community relations.
  • The ability to horizon scan, identify emerging issues requiring communications support and manage to a successful conclusion.
  • Enthusiasm for working collaboratively and developing strong working relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Experience in the sports industry and tennis knowledge a bonus.
