A leading mental health organization is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Mental Health Liaison Team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. The position involves providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment, supporting nursing staff, and developing care pathways. Qualifications

  • GMC registration and ability to achieve approved clinician status within 3 months.
  • Experience working with both General Adult and Older Adult patients.
  • Competencies relevant to specialist psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist medical and psychiatric assessment and treatment.
  • Support the wider nursing team in a general hospital setting.
  • Develop new care pathways and integrate psychiatric care.

Skills

Excellent knowledge in specialty
Excellent clinical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Experience with Addictions psychiatry
Experience with Neuropsychiatry
Experience with Psychotherapy

Education

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise
