We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Senior Commercial Manager to join our team on the Scottish Power DWNO Framework, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.

Role Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow a commercial team, ensuring effective leadership and development.
  • Hold full commercial responsibility for controls on a large Option E / C contract.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to deliver accurate and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client’s commercial team.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Lead major project delivery under NEC Option C contract arrangements.
  • Report into senior management meetings, both internally and externally
  • Support development and management of a large-scale commercial team.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Self‑driven and results‑oriented, with a positive outlook and growth mindset
  • Strong management skills with the ability to motivate teams toward high standards of compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills; capable of handling multiple projects without compromising quality.
  • Solid understanding of the construction industry; overhead lines experience desirable but not essential.
  • Proven ability to ensure standards and specifications are consistently met.
  • Skilled in working with senior management to define and achieve project and operational targets.
  • Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills; able to present sound business cases to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing monthly reporting processes, including cost value reporting (CVR)
  • Experience using COINS software.
  • Commercial management expertise in subcontractor procurement, valuations, and final accounts
  • Capable of setting up and managing direct labour, plant, and materials on projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in dispute resolution
  • Preferred experience in the energy sector.

About the Energy Business Unit

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
