Qualifications

• Chartership or Near with ICE or IStructE.
• CSCS or CCNSG.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance - British National or 5 years UK residency.

Job Description This is an exciting and challenging role in a growing team of 130+ C&S Engineers and Designers. Our department covers a range of projects from Concept Studies through to Detailed Design providing a variety of interesting work. Industries can range across Water, Transport and Energy including Green Energy, Nuclear and Oil and Gas.

Responsibilities Working with minimal supervision or guidance, the fundamental requirement of this role is to work with our existing design team including carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications and proposals for key local and regional clients.

• Take responsibility for leading small projects and sub tasks from a technical perspective
• Prepare preliminary and detailed design analysis, calculations, specifications and related documentation for civil and structural works
• Communicate designs effectively to the BIM teams
• Communicate effectively with other disciplines and construction teams
• Communicate confidently and authoritatively with clients
• Challenge and deliver value engineering solutions
• Support and guide more junior team members

You will be based in Manchester with occasional visits to other offices and site.

Essential

• Proven experience within the UK nuclear industry.
• Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline.
• Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management and of HSE requirements
• Minimum BEng Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartership or Near with ICE or IStructE
• CSCS or CCNSG

Desirable

• C&S elements of pumped systems, such as fire and potable water.
• Knowledge of nuclear standards and processes
• Experience with new and historic structures, including optioneering assessments.
• Nuclear Industry recognised training and qualifications
• Experience in leading small teams and supporting more junior engineers.
• Knowledge and experience of common forms of contracts
• Project Management experience
• Requirements Management experience
• Currently holding Security Clearance
