Senior Chartered Building Surveyor

Join Hollis, a leading international independent real estate consultancy, as a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor located in Ashford, Kent. This role will support the Surveying team on a wide range of commercial and residential projects across all forms of construction.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections and provide advice on construction, repair, maintenance and refurbishment of all types of buildings.
  • Perform inspections and surveys, including acquisition, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations.
  • Prepare reports, schedules of works and works specifications.
  • Design and oversee works, aligning with recognised building contracts and current technical standards.
  • Undertake projects independently, using expert knowledge on all aspects of professional consultancy services.
  • Understand and apply relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning.
  • Provide leadership and support to APC candidates to promote knowledge and understanding.
About You
  • MRICS accredited.
  • Experience and working knowledge of consulting, surveying and ancillary engineering practices with awareness of latest statutory requirements.
  • Experience in defect diagnosis and report writing.
  • Experience in negotiating with other professionals and key project stakeholders.
  • Experience leading instructions from inception to completion.
  • Experience working to deadlines and within budgets on large‑scale projects.
  • Experience and understanding of CDM regulations, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation.
  • Flexible, professional and "Can do" attitude, aligned with Hollis’s business ethos.
