Ratheane Care Home is currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant (Dayshift) to join their friendly, caring, and progressive team on full time basis (38.5 hours per week). This is a vital position within the Care Home, where you will work closely with the nursing staff to provide high‑quality care that meets the social, emotional, and physical needs of our residents. Your responsibilities will align with the Patient Charter of Rights and adhere to Nursing Home Minimum Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering personalised, compassionate care, ensuring residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Lead and work collaboratively with the care team to deliver outstanding quality care to all residents.
Proactively encourage, mentor, and develop team members to foster a positive and professional working environment.
Ensure all care documentation is completed accurately and in line with Home procedures.
Uphold and promote the company’s mission, vision, and values through daily interactions and care practices.
Support the nursing team to ensure strict adherence to all policies and procedures.>
Maintain a safe and respectful environment for both residents and staff, ensuring compliance with care regulations.
Essential Requirements:
A strong background in elderly or nursing care, with a proven track record in delivering high‑quality care.
Familiarity with safe medication handling, administration, and documentation.
Strong understanding of infection control, safeguarding, and health and safety guidelines within care environments.
Sensitivity to the emotional and physical needs of residents, with an empathetic and compassionate approach.
Mentor and support junior staff members, promoting a positive and efficient team environment.
Communicate clearly and effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
Assess situations quickly and make informed decisions that are in the best interest of the resident or patient.
Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
High standard of personal presentation and attention to detail.
Ability to develop, implement, and review care plans, ensuring that individual care needs are met.
Commitment to ongoing training and development, such as attending workshops, obtaining new qualifications, or staying updated on healthcare practices.
