You’ll be NVQ Level 3 qualified with a good understanding of medication management and CQC compliance, and a commitment to providing safe, effective, person-centred care.

Location: Stichell House Residential Care Home, Greatham, Hartlepool

Hours: Average of 30 hours per week on a rota basis. Mondays to Sundays (including Bank Holidays).

Responsibilities
  • Act as a Senior in charge, ensuring high standards of care to residents.
  • Administer residents’ medication in accordance with The Greatham Foundation medication policies and procedures; also ensure the policy for storage and administration of medication is adhered to.
  • Be responsible for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive the required care.
  • Maintain a system of care planning and review which meets the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident and is supported by an effective recording system.
  • Ensure that care practices accord with The Greatham Foundation policies, including those in the employee handbook, and report any issues to the Manager or Duty Manager.
  • Observe pre‑admission assessments carried out by the Manager and/or Duty Manager to ensure the needs of prospective residents can be met.
  • Be involved in the system for the protection of vulnerable adults.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with officers of the local authority and visiting health professionals.
  • Promote social activities within Stichell House that align with residents’ wishes and support participation.
  • Ensure the provision of appropriate health care arrangements for each resident – medical, dental, chiropody, and ophthalmic care.
  • Undertake on‑call duties in the absence of Duty Managers.
Qualifications and Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
  • At least three years’ experience working with older adults with complex needs in a similar care setting, including medication administration.
  • Enhanced full DBS.
  • Visa sponsorship not available; certificates of sponsorship are fully allocated.
