A leading UK-based multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join their established team in Cheltenham. About The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in the delivery of both national and regional commissions across a broad spectrum of sectors. Projects vary in scale and complexity—from multi-million-pound developments to specialist refurbishment and compliance schemes.

The role combines professional and project-based responsibilities and is suited to someone who enjoys a mix of technical work, client engagement, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver full spectrum building surveying services, including design, specification, and contract administration
  • Conduct condition and building surveys across various property types
  • Produce detailed technical reports and defect analyses
  • Advise on building regulations compliance, planning matters, and refurbishment strategies
  • Prepare and manage tender processes, schedules of condition, dilapidations, and maintenance programmes
  • Coordinate Party Wall matters including notices, schedules, and awards
  • Manage insurance-related claims and oversee remedial project delivery
  • Provide quality assurance and undertake peer reviews on key projects
  • Supervise and mentor graduate and junior team members
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for future work
Required Skills And Experience
  • Chartered Building Surveyor status (MRICS)
  • Consultancy experience
  • Broad technical expertise covering all core building surveying disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills with proven client-facing ability
