Role Overview

You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of APIs and services within our cloud infrastructure. You’ll work closely with our product team, frontend engineers, and external development partners. You’ll have the opportunity to shape backend foundations and technical direction as the product and team grow. This is a senior individual‑contributor role with significant influence over backend architecture and technical standards, rather than a people‑management position.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs from concept through production
• Make and document architectural decisions for new and existing systems
• Own services in production, including reliability, monitoring, and incident response
• Improve performance, scalability and reliability
• Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams.
• Review code and mentor less experienced engineers

Must Haves

• Experience with Go or similar backend languages (we value fundamentals over specific tools).
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases
• Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, etc.)
• Experience with GCP or similar cloud technologies
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
