This is a strategic position where you will own your domain, influence supplier roadmaps, and ensure technical solutions are secure, scalable, and future-ready.

You will define domain-level roadmaps, standards, and patterns, ensuring they are applied consistently across programmes and projects. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you’ll provide architectural assurance, guide integration, and shape the evolution of critical technology that underpins the UK’s smart energy infrastructure.

How you will contribute to transforming energy and shaping the future.
  • Define and maintain the long-term architecture strategy for your domain.
  • Provide oversight and assurance of supplier solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic direction.
  • Develop and enforce domain-specific standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Influence technology roadmaps and investment decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating business needs into architectural outcomes.
Your skills that will enable us to fulfil our purpose:
  • Proven expertise in end-to-end radio infrastructure design, including RF fundamentals and network optimisation.
  • Strong knowledge of 3GPP standards for 2G/3G, 4G, 5G, and non-terrestrial connectivity.
  • Experience in integration and interoperability across complex network environments.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Competence in designing resilient, secure, and scalable solutions for mission-critical systems.
