About the Role

We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to continue to build on our success and bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.

The Senior Accountant post will support the Adult Social Care and Health Partnerships Directorate covering a range of services including Adult Social Care, Public Health, Housing Options, Salford Assist, Welfare Rights and Debt Advice and our Health Improvement Service.

As a Senior Accountant you will support the financial operations within our local authority, ensuring our financial practices comply with statutory regulations and standards. Your role will be crucial in budgeting, financial planning and reporting, contributing to the efficient management of our resources and the delivery of essential services to our community. You will also play a key role in supporting the implementation of a new finance and procurement system, serving as the subject matter expert for Adult's finance, which includes budgeting, general ledger structures and other financial operations. Your expertise will ensure a smooth transition and integration with our existing processes, helping to drive efficiency and improve financial management across the organisation.

You will be proactive, dynamic, motivated and have the drive to meet strict deadlines. You will also have extensive experience in business partnering across a variety of finance and non-finance teams; preparing budgets and forecasts; have strong communication skills (both written and verbal); the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders using a variety of forms of communication and a proactive and enthusiastic individual who will shape the implementation of a new finance and procurement system.
