Overview

The Senior Account Manager is responsible for leading the management and development of key national client relationships to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role will focus on strategic account planning, strengthening client partnerships, and ensuring the successful delivery of value-added solutions that align with the company’s commercial and operational objectives.


Responsibilities


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key national clients, ensuring strong, long-term relationships.

  • Develop and execute tailored account plans to deliver commercial growth and enhanced client satisfaction.

  • Lead negotiations on pricing, service levels, and contract renewals to maximize profitability while maintaining client trust.

  • Identify opportunities to expand the company’s footprint within existing national accounts and new potential clients across the Scottish regions.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to introduce innovation & new products to clients.

  • Support the Sales Director / National Account Director in targeting and onboarding new national clients.

  • Monitor account performance against KPIs, producing regular reports and forecasts for senior management.

  • Contribute to the development of national sales strategies and frameworks to strengthen market position.

  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform proactive client engagement.

  • Consistent use of the internal CRM system (training will be provided).

  • Work closely with Operations, Commercial, and Social Value teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Act as a senior representative of the company at client reviews, industry events, and internal meetings.


Qualifications


  • Proven track record of managing high-value national accounts within the construction, plant hire, or related industries.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate complex contracts and deliver profitable growth.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills at all levels.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate client needs into actionable solutions.

  • Highly organised and proactive, with strong attention to detail and time management.

  • Competent in CRM systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.

  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationwide.
