Job summary

A prominent nursery group in Stafford seeks a SENDCO Lead to enhance learning for children with special educational needs. Qualifications

  • Experience working at a senior level in early years settings.
  • Detailed understanding of Ofsted requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents and agencies.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make a difference as a SENDCO:
  • By taking the lead in assisting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to engage fully in learning and reach their potential.
  • Through leading collaboration with families, staff, and external agencies to design and implement tailored support plans that meet each child’s needs.
  • By taking responsibility for promoting an inclusive, nurturing environment where all children feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.
What a SENDCO needs:
  • Must be at least Level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification and experience of working at a senior level.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the requirements set by Ofsted.
  • Excellent understanding of EYFS.
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
  • Experience of working with children with SEND requirements.
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
  • Ability to demonstrate multi agency working and experience of leading staff meetings.
