Job summary

A caring organization is seeking a SEN Nanny/Support Worker in Dorset to provide high-quality care for neurodiverse children. In this role, you will support the physical, emotional, and educational development of children aged 7 to 14 years, while performing household management tasks. The position offers competitive pay at £16.50 per hour and provides ongoing training and a supportive, family-focused work environment. Applicants must have a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and prior SEN experience.

SEN Nanny/Support Worker

Location: Dorset

Days and Hours:

2 main days (Tuesday or Wednesday and Friday). With some flexi hours on top of that. Those days 12-1930 (Tuesday 20:00pm if father is away). Either a Saturday or Sunday once every 6 weeks. Occasional over nights. During the school holidays, occasionally the days would be longer. Rota given one month in advance.

Salary: £16.50

Role Overview

Children: 14 yrs, 12 yrs and 7 year old. Neurodiverse. House work from 12, school pick up 15:05. Care needs have increased due to work patterns. Housework and household management tasks i.e. laundry, uniforms, meals etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality care to children in a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment
  • Support the physical, emotional, and educational development of each child
  • Work closely with the family
  • Engage children in age‑appropriate learning and play activities
  • Promote independence, positive behaviour, and self‑confidence in each child
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • SEN Experience
  • Medical administrative training
  • Experience working with children, ideally with additional needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child development principles
  • Creative, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Must be a driver
  • Must complete mandatory training, hold or obtain an enhanced DBS, and be registered on the update service (Costs covered and support provided by Freedom Care)
