This is a vital position in our award-winning security team, delivering a customer-focused service to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will operate advanced security systems including CCTV, access control, and radio communications, coordinating responses to incidents and supporting on-the-ground teams across the campus.

This full-time, permanent role operates on a 24/7 rotating shift pattern and involves both control room and patrol duties. You'll play a central part in logging incidents, deploying resources, and maintaining security operations at the heart of a dynamic and inclusive university community. In return, we offer excellent benefits including generous holiday entitlement, enhanced pay on university closure days, pension contributions, and access to professional development opportunities.

About you

You must have a full manual UK driving licence and either hold or be willing to obtain an SIA CCTV Operator Licence. Experience in handling security equipment and a professional manner in dealing with enquiries are essential, as is the ability to assess situations calmly and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

You will be confident working independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to manage varied tasks across shifts. If you enjoy working in a role where no two days are the same and want to make a real contribution to the safety and wellbeing of a vibrant university community, then we would love to hear from you. Join us at Leicester, where we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, supportive, and forward-thinking institution.
