Hours: Night shift between 5pm and 2:30am

The Role:

We are looking for an industrial cleaner with team leader experience to join our well‑established team in Preston. This is an exciting opportunity to join us in a period of significant change and be part of the next chapter in this well‑established Recycling Business.

What you will be doing:

• Working in a small team to keep the downstream processing clean and free of scrap metal and other debris.
• Support to machine maintenance: including spotting faults and supporting our engineering team with more complex maintenance tasks.
• Undertake regular daily checks on forklift truck, bobcat and other plant equipment before use.
• Carry out other housekeeping tasks around the plant as directed.
• Leading and supervising a small team on shift, allocating daily tasks and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Acting as the first point of contact for the team, escalating issues, faults or staffing concerns to management as needed.

Who you are:

• Experience/competence operating a counter‑balance FLT and/or Bobcat mini‑digger (would be useful but not essential)
• Prepared to work hard
• Fit and able to undertake a physically demanding role in a dirty, dusty and sometimes wet industrial environment
• Safety conscious and willing to adhere to our safety standards – protecting yourself and others. (PPE will be provided).
• Comfortable taking responsibility on shift and supporting other team members.
• Able to communicate clearly and deal with issues as they arise.
