Job description

Science Technician

  • Hours of work: 37 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Monday to Friday
  • Term weeks: 38 + 2 weeks school closure, minimum paid week 45.797

This is a really exciting opportunity to join The Whitehaven Academy at a pivotal time for its future. There has been significant financial investment to redevelop the school with state-of-the-art facilities combined with our Ofsted report, in which all areas were rated good.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to provide general support in the Science department, including preparation and maintenance of resources.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have relevant experience in a similar environment or appropriate qualifications.
  • Hold appropriate academic qualifications to at least GCSE standard, professional qualifications to at least NVQ level 2, or be able to demonstrate competency through proven experience in a similar role.
  • Have good inter-personal skills and be able to operate as a member of a busy team.
  • Have the ability to motivate and encourage students to develop to their full potential.
