A healthcare organization in Stornoway is seeking a skilled School Nurse to provide an effective and person-centred nursing service for vulnerable school-aged children requiring support. The role demands a focus on collaboration with children, families, and agencies, while also maintaining a caseload as an autonomous practitioner. Registration with the PVG Scheme is required. Band 6 £41,608 - £50,702 per annum
Plus, Distant Islands Allowance of £1,406 per annum

The post holder will provide an accessible, person‑centred effective school nursing service for vulnerable school‑aged children who have been identified as being at risk and requiring additional support. This will be achieved by working in partnership with children, young people, families, carers and partner agencies.
A continuous focus on prevention, early intervention and support will prevail and concentrate on the ten priority areas under overarching themes of vulnerable children and families, mental health and wellbeing, and risk‑taking behaviours.
The post holder will work within a team but will be responsible for a caseload and function as an autonomous practitioner by virtue of in‑depth knowledge, expertise, experience and proficiency.
The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
