About This Role

School Governor

Part time – Voluntary Role

Make a real difference for the next generation!

School Governors play a vital role in shaping the future of education. By joining our governing body, you will help ensure every child has equal access to the best possible learning and development opportunities.

You do not need to be an education expert—just someone who cares about making a positive impact. We are especially keen to hear from members of our wider local community who are not currently connected to the school (*), but who are willing to give their time and commitment. Working alongside school leaders, you will help set the strategic vision and direction of the school and hold leaders to account for improving outcomes for all pupils

What’s involved?
  • Around 2 hours every half term (usually Thursday evenings)
  • Occasional school visits (e.g., sports day, productions, learning walks)
  • Full training provided

This is a fantastic opportunity to boost your CV, develop new skills, or stay active in retirement. The role is considered a public duty, meaning you have the right to request time off from your employer to attend meetings.
