A local academy in Shoreham is seeking a part-time School Counsellor to provide essential support for students facing emotional and mental health challenges. You will play a vital role in implementing the school's mental health strategy and safeguarding efforts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in therapeutic support and have a strong commitment to student wellbeing. An Enhanced DBS check is required, along with satisfactory references. This role offers a salary ranging from £24,680 to £27,951 pro rata.

Shoreham Academy is looking for a School Counsellor to provide specialist therapeutic support to pupils with a range of emotional, psychological, and mental health needs, including complex, comorbid, and neurodivergent presentations. You will work independently, using clinical supervision to ensure safe and effective practice, while contributing to the school’s mental health strategy, safeguarding responsibilities, and whole-school wellbeing initiatives.

All new employees will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check with Barred List information prior to working in school. Two satisfactory references are required from all successful applicants, one of which must be the current or most recent employer. Prohibition order checks are undertaken for all newly appointed teachers and support staff who will be engaged in ‘teaching work’.
All new employees will be required to complete a medical questionnaire.

All new employees are required to complete three online safeguarding modules prior to starting work.
