A bit about the job:

We’re looking for a Group Protection Scheme Underwriter to join our Protection team. You’ll underwrite Group Life, Income Protection, and Critical Illness policies, providing accurate and timely quotations for our customers. Working closely with Distribution, Operations, and intermediaries, you’ll help manage risk and deliver exceptional service. This role is key to supporting our customers and ensuring smooth handovers to our Operations team. You’ll make decisions within agreed authority limits and contribute to a positive team environment.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in underwriting and risk evaluation, with the ability to make sound decisions and apply judgement across different scenarios.
• Knowledge of Group Protection products and relevant legislation, or a willingness to learn quickly and build expertise in this area.
• Group protection schemes underwriting knowledge would be an advantage, but not essential – we’ll support you to develop this if you’re new to it.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills, able to work collaboratively with colleagues, intermediaries, and customers to deliver great outcomes.
• Ability to plan and organise effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities and maintaining accuracy under pressure.
