What is it like to do the role of a Sales Development Chef
Varied! The three main parts of this role are sales, presentation & training. Every day is different; be that customer premises, type of customer, Delice Academy, exhibition or simply in the field. Working with products across the catalogue & more, gives the opportunity to add value, build strong relationships with chef teams to gain listings and generate sales. This role adds value & you can make a difference on a daily basis.

Channel & Field Sales Team, Category Manager, Concept Manager, Product Team, Sales Director & President.
Main Duties & Responsibilities of a Sales Development Chef include:
- Customer Presentations on customer premises or in the Delice Academy. Preparing, baking, finishing and display of samples. Organise & set the room ready to receive customer. Present products & discuss options, ideas & opportunities with Customer. Clean down post presentation.
- Exhibitions, Supplier Shows & Trade Shows. Support with samples. Help with stand build prior to event. Preparing, baking, finishing and display of samples. Engage & interact with stand visitors / customers. Sample & or demonstrate product. Help with clear down at end of show.
- Customer training on site or in the Delice Academy. Demonstrate how to prepare, bake, finish and display product. Be able to deliver & follow the bakery manual.
- Sales team training; Be able to engage & educate the team in our products so that they understand product USPs, uses and can prepare, bake, finish and display product so that they can educate & engage their customers. Day to day, support for the sales team resolving queries on product usage, menu ideas & recommendations for customers.
- Category, Range & product reviews to support NPD process. Feed into the category & range reviews feedback from customers, intel from marketplace and your own valued input.
- Catalogue launch spend time ahead of launch understanding the USPs and uses of all new products. Help with preparing, baking, finishing and display of NPD. Help with setting the room up ready to receive colleagues. Present products & discuss options, ideas & opportunities with colleagues. Clean down post presentation.
- Product usage, menu ideas & content generation support with ideas and actions for use in marketing materials & sales tools.
- Managing an agreed ledger of sold to accounts, visiting the accounts in the agreed frequency, meeting with the chef / catering team to discuss products, opportunities, issues, present NPD with objective to secure new listings and increase sales.
- Attend meetings with buddied Channel Managers / Executives for key accounts to agreed frequency, to develop understanding of the account & opportunities.
- Speciality products responsibility within own geographical territory to identify, contact & secure meeting / presentation to gain listings & sales of specified speciality product / range. Own the account forward for agreed period of time.
