Salaried GP - Langley Medical Practice (6-8 sessions)

Join Kingston GP Chambers for this salaried GP role at Langley Medical Practice. The role requires 6‑8 sessions per week, with additional on‑call duties and home visits as needed. The position is part of a Primary Care Network that shares space with two other practices and offers excellent access to allied health professionals.

Job Summary

Languages=English. The practice serves approximately 9,000 patients from Surbiton Health Centre, a modern purpose‑built facility only five minutes from Surbiton station. The successful candidate will work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team and is encouraged to take an active role in shaping clinical services and training.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide surgery consultations, emergencies, telephone and virtual consultations, triage, and home visits.
  • Check and sign repeat prescriptions, manage patient queries, test results, medical reports, and referral letters (NHS or private).
  • Maintain clear, contemporaneous IT‑based consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions, preferring electronic prescribing.
  • Prescribe in accordance with national guidelines and the practice formulary.
  • Manage care‑plan list, write and review care plans, and support patients under End of Life Care provisions.
  • Provide duty doctor cover every Thursday, including PM triage and medically urgent appointments.
  • Assist in audit, clinical standard setting, and development of computer‑based patient records.
  • Perform all standard duties of a GP working in primary care.
Other Responsibilities With The Practice
  • Adhere to all relevant practice policies: prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health & safety, and the annual QOF assessment.
  • Commit to lifelong learning, audit, and evidence‑based best practice.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of clinical services within the organisation.
Person Specification – Experience
  • Completion of a Vocational GP Training scheme.
Person Specification – Essential Qualifications
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GP register.
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice or Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR); inclusion on a Medical Practitioners List or equivalence.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
Person Specification – Desirable
  • Certificate in postgraduate clinical training.
