Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and self-driven Safety, Health & Environmental Officer to join the MBDA team. The role covers the UK and can be based at any of our sites. If you are passionate about safety, health and reducing our impact on the environment, this challenging but rewarding position may be for you.

Salary: Circa £35,000 dependent on experience + bonus + benefits

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working, such as 3 days on-site and 2 days remote working each week.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team

The opportunity

The successful candidate will be designing, developing and delivering SHE related training to enable management and employees carry out their work safely and effectively. You will also be involved in the general SHE activities in the UK, including the co-ordination of assessments and communications. Ensuring that the Company SHE policies and procedures are effectively implemented while helping to develop a SHE culture of continual improvement. You will work closely with a number of departments in the business, including engineering, manufacturing, facility maintenance and security, as well as having the opportunity to gain practical and professional experience in a challenging sector.

What we’re looking for from you
  • Minimum NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Significant experience and expertise in Safety, Health, Environment.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing and laboratory technologies.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, its application and interpretation relevant to MBDA operations.
  • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels in the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to translate complex information into easily understandable formats.
  • Ability to design, develop and deliver SHE training effectively.
