Job description

Following an exciting development in our team, The Guinness Partnership is recruiting for a Safe Neighbourhood Officer to join our Safe Neighbourhoods and Support Service on a full-time, permanent basis. This field-based role covers the Leeds, Harrogate, Doncaster, and Mexborough.

As a Safe Neighbourhood Officer, you will manage and investigate Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB) cases in hotspot areas across the region.
You will proactively pursue preventative measures, establishing strong working relationships with local police, authorities, and other agencies to deliver prevention projects.
You will collaborate with the ASB and Legal Officers based at our Oldham office to attend regional courts for initial hearings.
You will work with our residents on complex ASB cases and provide court representation for lower-level legal work such as injunctions, no access cases, and straightforward possession.

Travel will be a key part of this role, so you will need a Full UK driving licence and access to your own car.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and effective investigations.
  • Adopt a victim‑centred approach to keep individuals and communities safe.
  • Identify vulnerability early and elevate to our Safeguarding Team.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service in line with Guinness’s standards.
  • Take ownership of allocated cases in accordance with Guinness’s policies and procedures.
  • Attend court hearings for injunctions and NOSPs to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Build local partnerships with authorities and external agencies to utilise available tools and powers to address ASB.
  • Provide mediation services to reduce ASB between neighbours.
  • Identify and support continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members to innovate and deliver right‑first‑time services.
Experience required
  • Experience in delivering targeted ASB prevention projects.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory legislation for social housing.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation and current best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, maintaining accurate records within agreed service levels and targets.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet changing demands.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to plan and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated Guinness behavioural competencies.
Essential Qualifications
  • Educated to Level 2 (GCSE C+ or 9-4 or equivalent) or higher.

This position will require a basic DBS check, which will be paid for by The Guinness Partnership.
