Job summary

A technology solutions provider in the United Kingdom is looking for a Rework Technician to modify and upgrade PCB assemblies to IPC 610 Class 3 standards. Responsibilities include the removal and replacement of SMT components and ensuring all work meets acceptable workmanship levels and safety regulations. Candidates should have at least 3 years of PCB production experience and relevant qualifications such as GCSE or City & Guilds Electronics. Training in IPC 610 Class 3 is essential. This is a full-time position with set hours.

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Hand soldering IPC 610 Class 3 trained.

Responsibilities

Job description

Hours:38.5 hours per week
Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00; Friday: 08:30 - 15:30

Purpose of Role:

As a Rework Technician, you will complete the modification, rework and upgrade of PCB assemblies to IPC 610 Class 3 Standard.

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
  • Removal and replacement of a wide variety of SMT components down to 0201 and 01005 dimensions.
  • Removal and replacement of a wide variety of SMT and thru-hole IC packages and connectors including DIL, uBGA, BGAs PGAs, QFPs
  • Build product according to customer specifications and requirements
  • Ensure all work is completed to specified levels of acceptable workmanship.
  • Follow company procedures and work instructions at all times.
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety requirements and regulations
  • Adhere to the Company IT and Data policy
  • Comply with the statutory requirements and regulations and Company requirements
  • Carry out any other reasonable request which is for the benefit of the business
  • Assist in the training of team members ensuring best practice standards are maintained
  • At least 3 years’ experience in PCB production
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent. City & Guilds Electronics would be advantageous
  • Hand soldering IPC 610 Class 3 trained
  • Advantageous to hold a current IPC-7711: Rework, Modification and Repair qualification, or to have been trained at this level
