Job description

Do you have a background in Housing Management or Safeguarding services? Are you able to balance what service users want with what can realistically be provided? If yes, we want to hear from you!

In this role you'll be based on site at one of our largest Sheltered Housing Retirement Living schemes, Reginald Mitchell Court in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Reginald Mitchell Court comprises of 118 apartments, where Midland Heart provide onsite hosing management services, and is home to a variety of tenants who live independently. You'll also be responsible for a small scheme nearby, Brierley Lodge, which you'll visit once a week.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out void property viewings, managing sign-ups and overall tenancy management.
  • Managing compliance including building safety, safeguarding, fire safety and health and safety, ensure that our schemes are safe, secure and thriving communities our tenants are proud to call home.
  • Developing and maintaining positive professional relationships with our tenants, interacting with them regularly to ensure key messages are delivered and their needs are understood to achieve high customer satisfaction – proactive communication is key!

Across the schemes, you'll represent Midland Heart, playing a crucial role in running the schemes you cover and will be the responsible person on scheme, representing Midland Heart in the event of an emergency or customer query.

Working pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday - start/finish times can be discussed to offer flexibility to suitable candidates. There is also an opportunity to work from home for an afternoon once a week.

Our ideal candidate?
  • You’ll have experience of working within a Housing Management related role; OR have experience within a safeguarding or anti-social behaviour related role.
  • Experience of carrying out building safety / compliance checks.
  • You’ll have practical IT skills (Microsoft packages and in-house systems) with the ability to write letters to customers, report repairs and complete online training.
  • You’ll be highly organised with the ability to balance multiple tasks in this varied role.
  • Importantly, you're confident interacting with lots of different people, bringing a positive approach to any challenges you face whilst managing expectations.

Our tenants value face to face interaction and so it's important for you to be visible onsite at Reginal Mitchell Court throughout the week – onsite parking is available. You'll be required to visit Brierley Lodge, situated around 3 miles from Reginal Mitchell Court, once per week. To be considered for this role, you must be willing and able to travel to both schemes and our central Birmingham offices for training / team meetings.
