A charity organization in Glasgow is looking for a delivery driver to join their retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for uplifting and delivering furniture, ensuring safe handling of stock, and providing excellent customer service. Essential qualifications include a current vehicle license for driving a large Luton-sized vehicle and the ability to lift heavy items. The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well‑established charity, we have recently moved into our new purpose built home located within Bellahouston Park. The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life‑limiting and progressive illnesses and gives support to their families and carers.
Our retail team provides financial support to the Hospice through our network of 17 charity shops across the Glasgow area. Some of these shops sell furniture and this role will primarily involve the uplift and delivery of furniture between donors, our shops and customers. Key duties include:
Candidates must hold a current vehicle licence sufficient to drive a large Luton‑sized vehicle and be capable of moderate to heavy lifting and driving in all weathers and road conditions. Previous multi‑drop van delivery experience, preferably in a charity setting, would be beneficial. The van will be stored at the Hospice or at our distribution centre (Hillington), so ideally the candidate will have their own means of travel to these locations.
