The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well‑established charity, we have recently moved into our new purpose built home located within Bellahouston Park. The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life‑limiting and progressive illnesses and gives support to their families and carers.

Our retail team provides financial support to the Hospice through our network of 17 charity shops across the Glasgow area. Some of these shops sell furniture and this role will primarily involve the uplift and delivery of furniture between donors, our shops and customers. Key duties include:

  • Uplift and deliver furniture using the hospice van, ensuring all stock is handled and transported safely and without damage
  • Contact customers and donors via phone and email to arrange deliveries and collections
  • Plan routes to maximize van and time efficiency
  • Maintain an Outlook diary of deliveries and collections
  • Uplift and deliver other shop stock as required
  • Disposal of unsellable items at recycling centres
  • Keep the van clean and tidy at all times and ensure all driver checks are completed
  • Report and act on van maintenance and repair issues
  • Represent the hospice with excellent customer service at all times
  • Occasional weekend work may be required

Candidates must hold a current vehicle licence sufficient to drive a large Luton‑sized vehicle and be capable of moderate to heavy lifting and driving in all weathers and road conditions. Previous multi‑drop van delivery experience, preferably in a charity setting, would be beneficial. The van will be stored at the Hospice or at our distribution centre (Hillington), so ideally the candidate will have their own means of travel to these locations.

Please send a CV & cover letter to jobs@ppwh.org.uk or contact the hospice HR department on 0141 429 9886 for further information.
