Position: Resident Doctor – Oncology (Outpatients & Ward)

Location: Birmingham, The Harborne Hospital, (part of HCA Healthcare UK)

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (24 hours per week)

Salary: £65,000 - £73,092 (DOE) with opportunities for additional paid Bank shifts.

The Opportunity

Responsibilities

As part of our team of Resident Doctors, you will focus on general wards and day‑case areas, working in partnership with highly specialist nurses and acting on consultant‑led decisions. Your day‑to‑day duties will include:

  • Pre‑ and post‑operative treatments and clinical assessments
  • Participating in ward rounds and clerking admissions
  • Reviewing discharges and assessing referrals

In addition, you will be empowered to contribute to audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives, join internal networks, attend MDT meetings and engage in patient satisfaction focus groups.

What You’ll Bring
  • Full GMC registration and completion of Foundation training
  • Minimum training of ST2/IMT2 level (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2 years’ oncology experience
  • Ideally, post‑qualification exams such as MRCP
  • A passion for patient‑centred care and collaborative teamwork
