Qualifications

Job Description

As our Requirements Engineer, you will be responsible for executing to a high standard the requirements management processes on allocated projects within the Heathrow H7 Framework, ensuring efficient requirements development, accuracy and consistency of resultant scope, and adherence to standards.

You will also act as the lead for Requirements Information Management with the ultimate aim of delivering the technical requirements baseline for framework projects.

The role is based at Heathrow Airport, with a minimum of 3 days on site per week.

Responsibilities
  • Requirements Information Management across the framework.
  • Delivering and managing standards registers for allocated projects.
  • Executing processes detailed within the Costain Internal H7 SEMP and in accordance with the Costain Way for assigned projects, including as required:
    • Supporting requirements elicitation workshops.
    • Supporting the requirements change management process.
    • Capturing and writing requirements in formal language.
    • Managing all aspects of requirements including allocations, traceability, and verification and validation (V&V).
    • Conceptual and progressive development of the system to the level of detail required by the project in conjunction and complimentary to the design process.
  • Providing continuous improvement feedback on requirements management processes where required.
Qualifications

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field such as systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or mathematics
Experience
  • Working as a systems engineer on projects in a structured / regulated environment
  • Experience in executing core systems engineering sub-disciplines including requirements management, configuration control, verification & validation, requirements writing, and requirements change management
  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or demonstration of working towards professional recognition
  • INCOSE SEP accreditation (ASEP) or working towards
  • Experience in railway infrastructure projects
  • Experience in aviation infrastructure projects
  • Experience with DOORS Next requirements management software
  • Experience with Capella MBSE software
  • Working as a systems engineer on large and complex infrastructure programmes
