Job Description

• Handle straight and pre-bent steel safely and efficiently
• Read and understand detail sheets and specifications
• Set up and shut down machines as required
• Conduct safety checks for all hand tools and machinery to ensure they are in good working order
• Able to accurately cut, bend and shear reinforcing steel
• Ensure raw and packaging materials are always available
• Have an eye for quality control
• Assist with loading of trucks when required for dispatch

What we need from you

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Machine Operator working with reinforcing steel in New Zealand
• High drive to be successful and willing to go that extra mile
• Willing to undertake a pre‑employment medical and drug test if successful
• Ability to read and understand detailing and construction plans/drawings
• Reliable and honest
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good knowledge of OHS
• Site Safe accreditation preferred
