Working in HMP Haverigg presents unique challenges and opportunities for healthcare professionals due to the poor health of the patients who find themselves in custody.

We are recruiting for the position of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities such as:

  • Supporting multi-disciplinary team – such as:
    • Diabetic retinopathy screening
    • AAA screening
    • Ultrasounds and X‑Rays
    • Medication rounds and dispensing
    • Emergency response situations
    • Patient assessments
  • Nurse‑led clinics – such as:
    • NHS Health Checks
    • Immunisations and Vaccinations
    • NHS Bowel Screening
    • Phlebotomy clinics
    • Wound and Tissue Viability assessments
  • Assessing new patients who have just arrived at the establishment for the first time.
  • Complete clinical assessments.
  • Triaging the acutely unwell patients.
