Key responsibilities
- Provides initial and ongoing assessment and interpretation of patients within the framework of holistic professional nursing practice, and in accordance with the principles of patient and family focused care
- Develops, coordinates and updates an individualized plan of care, based on evidence, in collaboration with the patient and family, the interdisciplinary health care team and other providers of care promoting continuity across the continuum
- Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patient/family
- Utilizes data obtained from the patient and family and other health care providers to evaluate the plan of care including the patient's responses to interventions and achievement of expected outcomes
- Provides a supportive environment for communicating and decision making by patients and families
- Practices within professional, legal and ethical standards and is accountable at all times for his/her own actions and decisions
- Supports the philosophy, vision and mission of the Bermuda Hospitals Board
Qualifications & Registration
- Graduate of an accredited Bachelor Nursing Program (preferable) recognized by the Bermuda Nursing Council
- Current certifications: BCLS certificate
- Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council (BNC) is required
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience and excellent clinical skills
- Membership with the Bermuda Nurses Association (BNA) is encouraged
