Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential care of children.
  • 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Must possess Full UK Driving Licence.

Job description

Job Title: Registered Manager
Location: Shrewsbury
Salary: £5,000 annual quality and commercial bonus + £55,000 to £60,000 base
Working Hours: Full Time
Service: Children’s Home
Service Users: YPs – CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation)
Qualifications Required: Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare preferred or must be enrolled within 6 months of starting.
Experience in Years Required: At least 2 years’ experience in residential care of children and 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to each young person’s needs.
  • Recruit, develop and retain a strong and consistent staff team.
  • Establish and maintain high-quality care standards in line with The Quality Standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring child protection and safeguarding responsibilities are fully met.
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers and professionals.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing and empowering environment for all young people in your care.
Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years’ residential care experience and 1 year supervisory within last 5 years
  • Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or willingness to work towards within 6 months
  • Strong understanding of childcare legislation and Ofsted frameworks
  • Excellent communication, planning and leadership skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
