Registered Building Inspector (South/West Wales)

Location: South/West Wales

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

About the role

Cook Brown Building Control operates as a Registered Building Control Approver, providing high-quality services to ensure a healthy and safe environment while assisting clients throughout the construction process. It is a commercial business delivering quality-based Building Control Services to external clients in a competitive arena.

The Service is divided into five technical teams, each responsible for a geographical area – Bristol and South West, Tewkesbury, Birmingham, London, and Swansea, along with a centralized administration support team.

  • Class 2 A, B & D Registered Building Inspector / 2A-F / 3G depending on experience
  • Building Control experience

Roles and responsibilities

  • Deliver professional Registered Building Control Approver services to clients
  • Manage workload effectively
  • Provide advice on fee quotes
  • Check plans for compliance with Building Regulations
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure works comply with Building Regulations
  • Assist with general queries and customer advice
  • Maintain and develop appropriate Registered Building Inspector classes and subclasses
  • Follow Cook Brown quality manual, SOPs, technical memorandums, and code of conduct
