Job Summary

Band 5 HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with IBMS Certificate of Competence required to join the Immunology Team at University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM), based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital site.

Part‑time position. The team provides a full Immunology service across the NMCPS network of four hospitals. We hold UKAS accreditation ISO 15189:2022 and are an IBMS approved training laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and run automated analysers and processors.
  • Perform manual assays and indirect immunofluorescence (IIF).
  • Complete the IBMS Specialist Portfolio for Immunology.
Essential Criteria
  • HCPC registered.
  • Completed IBMS registration portfolio.
  • Understanding of pathology IT systems.
  • Intermediate and accurate IT skills.
  • Good written communication.
  • Methodical approach to following instructions.
  • Ability to apply current skills, work under pressure and prioritise allocated work.
  • Professional presentation and attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria
  • Completed self‑directed CPD activities.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System.
