The need for our help has never been greater, with many horses and ponies across the UK facing uncertain futures due to neglect, overbreeding, and financial hardship. Volunteers are key to helping us find loving new homes for these animals and improving their lives.
As a Regional Horse Welfare Volunteer, you will help maintain strong relationships with our horse borrowers, ensuring the horses in our loan schemes are happy, healthy, and well cared for. You’ll conduct welfare visits, offer guidance on horse care, and ensure that insurance documentation is up to date.
We’re looking for individuals with a solid background in equine care and a genuine desire to improve the welfare of horses. Your support will directly contribute to the success of our loan schemes and ensure that horses are protected in their new homes.

More about this roleAt Blue Cross, the welfare of companion animals, including horses and ponies, is at the heart of everything we do.
As a Regional Horse Welfare Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that the horses in our loan schemes receive the care they need. You will conduct welfare visits, provide advice to borrowers, and collaborate with the team to maintain Blue Cross’s high welfare standards, ensuring that the horses remain safe, healthy, and happy in their new homes.
You’ll also assist in keeping insurance documentation up to date for both the horses and borrowers, directly contributing to the success of our loan schemes and the long-term welfare of the horses.
Your support will make a lasting impact on the lives of horses in need, as you become part of a dedicated, passionate team committed to ensuring their well-being.
